Trees communicate with each other through mycorrhizal networks beneath the soil, sharing resources, and protecting each other. This interconnectedness in nature and the reliance on each other and the community to thrive is reflected in visual connections throughout the Refettorio Toronto, a high-end soup kitchen.
Early Conceptualization
This floor plan is the result of an overlaying image depicting the crown shyness phenomenon in forests, in which trees do not touch, but determine their neighbour’s outline.
